Prebiotics boost beneficial microflora in a newly patented approach to treating acne from Cosmetic Research Lab, a cosmetics manufacturer focused on green technology.
Prebiotic Activ Technology is based on blackcurrants and European wild-crafted pine, and is meant to promote the growth of protective bacteria on skin in order to balance the skin microbiome and ultimately provide a soothing and nourishing effect.
Clinical studies found that users of the technology reported calmer skin and better control over breakouts after one application, along with reduced wrinkle length and depth; a brighter-looking complexion; and improved skin health after 28 days.
The technology can is reportedly 99.9% effective at 30 seconds in treating Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acnes. Additionally, it does not induce redness, irritation or other side effects of traditional acne care ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, according to the company.
Cosmetic Research Lab's brands include Tomorrow's Leaf and DermOne Skincare. For more information on the technology, visit www.cosmeticresearchlab.com.
