Syensqo plans to redefine the landscape of responsible beauty at in-cosmetics Global 2025 with its latest line-up of high-performance, sustainable ingredient solutions. Leading the charge is Naternal Care XTRA, described as a "breakthrough" fenugreek-based conditioning polymer delivering unparalleled efficacy and sustainability in the realm of hair care. Four additional environmentally mindful innovations include: a plant-based emollient, a water-soluble lipid concentrate, a natural amino acid gelling agent and a natural, biodegradable suspending agent.

Naternal Care XTRA: Harnessing Nature to Restore Hair Health

Per Syensqo, Naternal Care XTRA (INCI: Not Provided) stands as a testament to the company's commitment to blending science and environmental mindfulness. Inspired by the renowned healing properties of fenugreek, this bio-based polymer reportedly offers advanced deep-conditioning benefits, restoring even the most damaged hair to softness, strength and manageability.

Key benefits include:

  • Deep conditioning: Revives severely damaged hair for improved texture and strength.
  • Biodegradable formula: Readily biodegradable (Biodeg Score B) and suitable for clean beauty formulations beyond traditional sulfated systems.
  • Sustainable alternative: Replaces polyquaterniums with a naturally derived, eco-friendly solution.
  • Formulator-friendly: Highly soluble and easy to incorporate into diverse hair care systems.

“This innovation represents a new era of responsible hair care, where visible results meet environmental values,” said Vincent Miralles, hair care global segment leader at Syensqo.

4 Advanced Solutions for Sustainable, High-Performance Beauty

Building on the momentum of Naternal Care XTRA, Syensqo is unveiling a suite of ingredients to empower formulators and meet the growing demand for clean, high-efficacy products. The new Ingredient lineup includes the following.

Dermalcare VG Squalane: 100% plant-based, sourced from canola, sunflower and olive for supply security and luxurious skin feel; applications include skin and hair care, offering softness and a rounded, velvety finish.

Cerafy Mix Repair: For moisturizing and repairing; combines biomimetic ceramides (NP and AP) and phytosphingosine to hydrate, repair and soothe; offers versatility: water-soluble and cold-processable for ease of use across skin, hair and scalp care.

Oleogy LEOT: An oil gelling innovation, this natural amino acid-based gelling agent is appropriate for transparent stick formulations; provides a smooth glide and powdery after feel, perfect for skin care, sun care and makeup.

Rheozan BLC W: A suspending agent based on bacterial cellulose, effective at low doses for particle stabilization; enhances formulation aesthetics in both rinse-off and leave-on products.

According to the company, these innovations, blending high performance with environmental mindfulness, will be spotlighted in the Innovation and Sustainability Zones at In-cosmetics Global 2025.

10 Years of Sustainable Guar Sourcing

Syensqo's commitment to sustainability is further exemplified by the 10-year anniversary of its Sustainable Guar Initiative. This program supports more than 12,000 smallholder guar farmers in India by fostering a self-reliant and inclusive supply chain. Per the company, the initiative has not only elevated agricultural practices, but also significantly improved community livelihoods, setting a benchmark for sustainable sourcing.

“As we look to the future, our innovations and sourcing initiatives represent a holistic approach to transforming the beauty industry,” said Jean-Guy Le Helloco, vice president of home and beauty care at Syensqo.
