On November 12, 2024, an explosion occurred at the Louisville, Kentucky, plant of Givaudan Sense Colour around 3:00 p.m. At least two people have been killed and multiple people have been injured, company officials told CBS News.
Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said in a statement that twelve people were taken to local hospitals with various injuries. Their conditions range from minor to critical and life-threatening.
In a statement to local news outlets, Givaudan said, “We are in the early stages of investigating the cause of this incident and are cooperating with first responders and supporting agencies. Our priority right now is our team members, the families of those we have lost and those that were injured in the accident. We are in touch with them and committed to supporting them in the coming days and weeks.”
