Dr. Straetmans was awarded with the Active Ingredients Product Line Strategy Award by Frost & Sullivan. Dr. Straetmans received this award on Nov. 11, 2008, at the Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards Dinner. Dr. Straetmans was chosen among European companies in the cosmetics industry as the company that best meets customer demands regarding the product portfolio in respect to current market trends, in-depth customer support and additional services offered. A further aspect for the choice of awardees throughout the chemical industry was the strategy to launch new products with a major impact on the targeted market.
At the dinner, a total of 18 companies from different sectors of the chemical industry were presented an award for their specific achievements in the corresponding market. Particular strategies regarding industry demands or environmental issues were the grounds for the nomination. The Active Ingredients Product Line Strategy Award presented to Dr. Straetmans honors the long term strategy of the company to develop concepts and raw materials for alternative preservation, including many products from renewable resources. The company started 15 years ago to develop and promote such systems under the brand Dermosoft, reportedly long before a market trend in that direction was visible. With further achievements being the introduction of a novel hair conditioner, Symbioquat, and the offering of an array of services for the implementation of new raw materials into the manufacturers’ product concepts, the marketing strategy of Dr. Straetmans was recognized to be at the edge of customers’ demands.
The methodology of Frost & Sullivan is based on interviews with different players in the respective industry. As a result of this research methodology, Frost & Sullivan impartially chooses the company with the most convincing marketing and product strategy.
