To better serve the home and personal care industries’ demand in emerging markets, BASF completed a surfactant capacity expansion project at its Cimanggis site in Indonesia.
The company meets the requirements of the European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI) guide for Good Manufacturing Practices, which optimizes infrastructure, processes and services. Additionally, customers can be offered a constant supply of products.
“We have seen robust growth in demand for personal care and home care products in emerging markets in the region,” said Srikanth Vaduvur, vice president, regional marketing management, Care Chemicals Asia Pacific, BASF. “With EFfCI certification, Cimanggis now operates at a world-class standard to meet this demand.”
The company’s care chemicals division is enhancing the standards at all its production sites worldwide.
“By investing in the development of our production base in Cimanggis, we can ensure reliable supply of world-class, quality products to meet the growing demands of customers in Indonesia and the ASEAN markets,” said CP Chan, president director, BASF Indonesia.
The Cimmanggis site received Halal certification—with the project completed—which qualifies the company to produce ingredients under Halal requirements and devoid of contact with any impurity defined by Muslim religious requirements.
