Henkel announced strong third-quarter results. Overall sales grew 3.8% to €3.26 billion, with net profit reaching €217 million. Although the company saw growth in its personal care division, it also saw a slight drop in its laundry and personal care division.
Growth in sales was 5.6%. According to the company, the cosmetics and personal care division, with a 9.1% growth to € 742 million, had a lot to do with the growth. The growth in the cosmetics and personal care division was attributed by the company to the success of the Dial and Gillette brands.
The laundry and home care divisions were not as successful. Sales for those divisions fell 3.4% to €1.05 billion. The company attributed the loss to a series of divestments in 2006.
