
Alberto-Culver Company has announced its sales and profits for the third quarter and first nine months of fiscal year 2006. Third quarter 2006 sales increased 6 percent to US$952.7 million. The sales growth, however, excluded non-core items, which, when included, reflected sales to have decreased 42.9 percent to US$30.5 million. Dilute net earnings per share were 33 cents for the third quarter 2006.
Pre-tax earnings increased 10.4% to US$94.8 million, according to the company, while earnings were up 16.4% in the third quarter to US$65 million. In addition, sales for the third quarter of 2006 grew by 6.4% to US$2.8 billion.
