Dr. Thomas Schiebel, Dr. Hisham Fansa and Dr. Dirk Weuster-Botz are all new members of AMSilk's scientific advisory board and will advise the company on medical technology, personal care products and industrial applications and textiles. Schiebel will take over as chairman of the board.
Schiebel is a professor at the University of Bayreuth, holding the chair for biomaterials. He is co-founder of AMSilk and inventor of the synthetic silk biopolymer production technology.
Fansa is a plastic and aesthetic surgeon with more than 25 years of experience. He is co-owner of the Heitmann-Fansa Aesthetic Medicine Practice in Munich.
Weuster-Botz is a professor at the Institute of Biochemical Engineering of the Technical University Munich. He is also the director of the TUM Research Center for Industrial Biotechnology.
