The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) announced that it has surpassed 5,000 individual members for the first time since its founding in 1945.

“Now more than 5,000 members strong, SCC continues to significantly impact our industry,” said Peter Tsolis, 2017 president of SCC and executive director, skin care R&D at The Estée Lauder Companies. “Our membership growth speaks to the value that they receive from their affiliation with and connections made through our organization. We appreciate the continued support of our volunteers, sponsors and industry partners in our efforts to deliver exceptional member value through our product and service offerings.”

The SCC focuses on serving the educational and networking needs of cosmetic science professionals and consists of 19 chapters across North America. The organization promotes industry best practices, continuing education programs, information sharing and technology to members.

“By focusing on delivering timely, relevant education and creating an unparalleled network of resources and peer connections, members recognize the value of what we have to offer,” said Erica O’Grady, executive director. “The caliber of the Journal of Cosmetic Science, our continuing education, annual meeting speakers and specialized content provide a one-stop- shop for members—from students to seasoned professionals—to get the industry information they need.”
