Magris Acquires Imerys' North American Talc Subsidiaries

ImerysNorth American subsidiaries’ assets have been sold to Magris Resources Canada Inc. for US $223 million, as reported by Vermont Business Magazine.

Imerys is the talc miner used for Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder and other products. Due to the large number of lawsuits that have emerged due to claiming talc has caused cancer in consumers, Imerys Talc America, Imerys Talc Vermont and Imerys Talc Canada were sold in order to compensate the talc victims and try to emerge from Chapter 11.
