Lipotec Wins Best Ingredient Award for Marine Contouring Active

Lipotec's Actigym has won the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award at in-cosmetics Asia 2014. The company was declared the winner at the event's Award Ceremony on Nov. 5, 2014.

The Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award honors the development of novel actives or functional ingredients that combine scientific excellence, formulation benefits for manufacturers and efficacy for consumers when compared to other products currently available on the market. The ten new ingredients short-listed for the award were selected by an expert panel of judges including Alain Khaiat of Seers Consulting; Karl Lintner, president of Kal’Idees S.A.S.; Jack Ferguson, founder of Skinnovation Ltd.; and Marc Pissavini, director of basic and applied research at Coty-Lancaster Group.

Actigym is a marine ingredient that provides contour reduction after 28 days of treatment in areas such as the abdomen, thighs or arms, which are sensitive to sagging.

The nine other finalists for the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award 2014 were: Ashland with GP4G SP, BASF with Tinosorb; DSM Nutritional Products Asia Pacific with VALVANCE; Evonik with Tego Sulfosuccinate DO 75; Gattefosse with Emulium Mellifera; Ichimaru Pharcos with CinderellaCare; Induchem with Redensyl; Mibelle Biochemistry with Snow Algae Powder; and NuSil Technology with CareSil CES.

The ten finalists were selected from among the many new innovations set to be displayed in the show's Innovation Zone, which provides inspiration for product development, and includes ingredients launched exclusively at the show or within the last eight months of the event. Last year's Gold winner was Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, which took home the winning award for Elix-IR.
