New OASIS Group to Promote Organic, Sustainable Standards in Health & Beauty

Tim Kapsner (Aveda) announced at SupplySide West, in Las Vegas, the formation of a new trade organization—Organic and Sustainable Industry Standards (OASIS) for health and beauty products, an organization dedicated to verifiable standards that support and promote organic and sustainable production for health and beauty products.

Ultimately, the goal of OASIS will be to create certification standards. The group intends to serve as a forum for consumers, government and industry, and also will strive to coordinate international organizations to come up with international standards.

Some of the charter members include such companies as: Aveda, Haines Celestial, McIntyre, Vegetech, Citrus & Allied, Royal Aromatics, a mix of manufacturers and suppliers (including fragrance ingredient suppliers).

Stay tuned to C&T.com as we follow the evolution of this trade organization.
