UPDATE: Headline has been updated to clarify the business elements sold by IFF, which do not encompass any fragrance activities.
IFF is narrowing its strategic focus, agreeing to sell its botanical extracts, vitamins, minerals, food enhancement, natural colors, antioxidants and select flavor businesses to SuanNutra, a portfolio company of Carbyne Equity Partners. The businesses generated approximately $170 million in 2025 revenue and employ around 600 people across five manufacturing sites in Europe, the United States and Latin America.
The divestiture underscores IFF's continued portfolio optimization strategy as it doubles down on its higher-growth Taste, Scent and Health & Biosciences businesses.
For SuanNutra, the acquisition is transformational. By combining the acquired businesses with its existing operations, the company will grow to roughly 700 employees, serve more than 1,200 customers in over 60 countries, and significantly expand its manufacturing and R&D footprint. The deal also reflects a broader industry trend: major ingredient suppliers are streamlining portfolios around core competencies, while specialized players build scale through targeted acquisitions. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
