Consumer demand but also innovative product development came together to form the latest color creation from BASF Colors & Effects: Cloisonné Vibrant Raspberry (pending INCI: Mica (and) Titanium Dioxide (and) Iron Oxides (and) Silica).
"It originated from innovations in pigment technology from our R&D lab," says Genevieve Lee, associate marketing manager for the company's effect pigments, cosmetics, colors and effects. She adds, "We [also] heard what our customers were saying, and our scientists knew customers were looking for this carmine-free, rich chromatic effect pigment effect in the red color space."
The result? A bold, magenta, metallic-like pigment based on sustainably sourced natural mica.
In this exclusive product podcast, sponsored by BASF Colors & Effects, Lee describes the development and unique benefits of this pigment, along with how it fits many of today's market mandates.
