Packing RoC 35 with Rejuvenation Power
As stated, the RoC 35 protocol is built on a five-product regimen that includes the Firming Serum Stick and Revive + Glow serums; Firm + Lift and Hydrate + Plump moisturizers; and the Dual Eye Cream. These products feature the star molecules:
- Retinol: The gold standard of anti-aging ingredients, stabilized using RoC's proprietary technique, ensuring efficacy over time.
- Hyaluronic acid: Provides deep hydration and plumping to improve skin elasticity.

While the first three are well-known by consumers, THPE is perhaps lesser known. It has been described in dermatological research as a molecule that works by contracting the keratinocytes, providing an immediate tightening effect while promoting long-term benefits with regular use.
Clinical Validation Across 35 French Clinics
The RoC 35 protocol was developed after rigorous testing in more than 200 participants aged 45 and older. Key highlights from the study include:
- Skin rejuvenation: Participants reported their skin looked and felt 9.6 years younger on average after 90 days' regimen use.
- Comprehensive improvement: Thirty key parameters of youthful skin were scrutinized using VISIA’s professional imaging system, resulting in results such as:
- 98% achieved healthier, more radiant skin tone.
- 97% found their skin softer, more hydrated and pore appearance minimized.
- 91% saw significant wrinkle reduction across all areas of the face and neck.
- 90% noticed firmer, plumper, more elastic and "lifted" skin.
- 92% reported dramatic improvements around the eyes, including reduced dark circles, crow’s feet and puffiness.
Beyond visible results, the RoC 35 protocol resonated emotionally with participants, with 90% reporting an overall boost in confidence and optimism as their skin's condition visibly improved.

To delve deeper into the dermatological drivers for this range, C&T reached out to Art Pellegrino (AP), Chief Scientific Officer at RoC Skincare. He shared the following insights.
C&T: What led to the development of this product regimen? Was there an unmet dermatological consumer need?
AP: The RoC 35 Protocol was inspired by the powerful insight that most individuals over 40 feel younger than their actual age, yet their skin often doesn’t necessarily reflect that. At RoC, we know that our products individually target visible signs of aging, and that when used together within the right regimen, they’d be able to bridge that gap. This led to RoC developing our most comprehensive clinical study to date.
We set out to create a skin care regimen that addressed both immediate and long-term aging concerns, something most routines tend to overlook, by collaborating with 35 of the top aesthetic clinics in France. We enrolled over 200 participants in a 90-day protocol using five of our hero products, and achieved remarkable results, including participants aged 45+ reporting an average visible skin age improvement of 9.6 years.
But beyond the quantifiable results, we found that there was an emotional impact, reinforcing what we’ve always believed: skin care has the power to boost not just how you look, but how you feel. Nine out of 10 patients reported that the visual benefit made them feel younger.
C&T: How and why did you go about aligning various products with day and nighttime application?
AP: We developed the regimen to take advantage of skin’s specific needs at night and during the day, and we felt like we had the right products to create a superior day and night regimen. At night, when the skin is most receptive to renewal and repair, we incorporate our patented RoC Retinol to support cell turnover and skin renewal.
During the day, the regimen focuses on hydration, firmness and protection, so we include ingredients like tetrahydroxypropyl ethylenediamine, commonly referred to as THPE, to help support skin firmness, as well as SPF for UV protection. By creating a day and night regimen, we ensured that all of the skin’s needs were met, delivering a routine that has a synergistic effect to maximize benefits.
C&T: Consumers are very familiar with retinol, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C for skin. How does THPE fit into this group of cosmetic actives?
AP: THPE is a powerful, new ingredient in skin care, utilized by RoC because it delivers a visible, immediate lift. It works by gently contracting the skin’s surface cells, creating a noticeable tightening and firming effect within minutes.
This immediate effect works effectively alongside more familiar actives like retinol, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C, together providing both immediate and long-term skin care benefits. THPE plays a key role in products like our Derm Correxion Firming Serum Stick and Multi Correxion Firm + Lift Cream.
C&T: With so many actives and so many products, how did you manage to control any cross-interactions or sensitization?
AP: These five products were carefully selected to work together to maximize efficacy and safety in a skin care regimen. Previously, each RoC product was tested to measure its individual effects in clinical efficacy testing and rigorous safety testing to ensure that by putting them together, we would see the superior efficacy without creating any sensitivity issues.
C&T: Does the 35 in RoC 35 refer to the 35 clinical trials? Also, why did you invest in so many?
AP: The “35” in RoC 35 refers to the 35 independent aesthetic clinics in France that took part in the clinical evaluation of the protocol. We invested in a study of this scale because true clinical rigor is key to building trust.
In a category full of bold claims, we wanted to offer something more meaningful: real, measurable proof. Many participants had been using high-end, prestige skin care beforehand, yet 95% found the RoC 35 regimen more effective. That kind of validation is both rare and powerful.
By having a robust protocol and choosing reputable aesthetic centers, we were able to achieve highly credible, highly impactful results that resulted in both visual and emotional benefits to the patients.
