Voss Laboratories has released a small supply of its stem-cell based antiaging cream, Amatokin, in the United States. The emulsion is made after its primary ingredient, polypeptide #153, which reportedly was developed by a team of Russian scientists in St. Petersburg during research on stem-cell populations in the skin. According to the company, the study was done to treat third-degree burn patients, but the company found an antiaging benefit in the peptide.
Voss Laboratories has reportedly been researching the peptide for nearly 15 years. It acquired the right to the cosmetic use of the peptide three years ago. According to the company, the product reduces the appearance of wrinkles by arousing stem-cell potential in the reservoirs of the skin.
