This body and face wash is as basic as a cleansing product can get. The most interesting aspect of the formulation is its use of acrylates copolymer to suspend the petrolatum. High levels of petrolatum can negatively affect the foaming of a surfactant system; a good foaming surfactant like sodium laureth sulfate and a foam stabilizer like cocoamide MEA should achieve some measure of lather, which consumers expect from a cleansing product. However, adding another surfactant like sodium lauroyl sarcosinate may seal the deal and boost the foam even further.
Cocoamidopropyl betaine helps to thicken the system while providing moisturizing benefits. The pH of the formulation is most likely above 7 because the formulator used tetrasodium rather than disodium EDTA.
