Body care continues to boom. Mordor Intelligence reports the market reached US $78.32 billion in 2025 and projects it will grow to $99.75 billion by 2030. The firm attributes this expansion to a "substantial" increase in the emphasis on personal hygiene, skin health and wellness.
What's more, Mordor highlights that consumer preferences have shifted toward more sophisticated, multifunctional formulas encompassing moisturization, exfoliation, anti-aging properties, skin brightening and antimicrobial protection. Lume's Whole Body Deodorant provides a good example.
Lume Whole Body Deodorant
Lume's Clean Tangerine Solid Deodorant Stick is described as a highly effective whole-body deodorant designed to provide long-lasting odor control for up to 72 hr. The product is said to target odor at its source by lowering the body's pH. This creates an environment where bacteria cannot break down sweat or other bodily fluids, which causes malodor.
In addition, the formula is clinically proven to even skin tone, reduce hyperpigmentation, brighten skin and decrease redness. These benefits are attributed to key ingredients including caffeine, mandelic acid and panthenol.
The deodorant is designed to be easy to apply and safe for external use anywhere odor control is needed: under the arms, the under-breast area, belly buttons and other areas prone to odor. The company advises that users with sensitive skin should patch test before full application, however, and note that the product's alpha hydroxy acid content may increase sun sensitivity.
The product is available in 8 scents and an unscented version. The tangerine offering provides a refreshing, fruity, tangy and sweet fragrance that is both pleasant and subtle, per the company.
Lume highlights the product is also free from:
- aluminum,
- baking soda,
- parabens,
- phthalates,
- sulfates and
- talc.
It is there promoted as safe for sensitive skin. Additionally, the product is vegan, cruelty-free and adheres to clean beauty standards. Packaged in a 2.6 oz. solid stick, the Lume Clean Tangerine deodorant is priced at $15, with a subscription option available at a discounted rate of $12.75.

User Feedback: Lume Whole Body Deodorant
Following are example user reviews (edited for style), selected for their anecdotal insights on product form and function.
- No rashes, no smell. It's actually better than antiperspirants.
- I have put a little here, there and everywhere. It works. It has not caused me to itch or feel irritated. It dries clear and does not leave residue.
- Nice clean smell and not overpowering. Even after sweating from exercise.
- Product works great but I’m really disappointed to find out that the company is moving toward using synthetic fragrances.
- This deodorant lasts all day the next day and my armpits still smell fresh before getting in the shower. The scents are light and pleasant. I have sensitive skin so I avoid heavy perfumes and this deodorant is perfect for that.
- No stink, no wetness, no reapplying during the day.
- Deodorant goes on wet but dries quickly.
Formulating Whole-body Products
Last year, we reported on the thriving whole-body deodorant category and asked industry experts to share insights into why the market is booming as well as formulation considerations.
"The biggest challenge with formulating whole-body deodorants — or really any type of deodorant — is delivering long-lasting efficacy while also delivering a desirable application and skin feel, without any negatives like white residue or staining of clothes," explained Melissa Christenson, co-founder and head of product development for Hume Supernatural All Body Deodorant.
"With increasing attention to this fast-growing segment, the good news is that there is more opportunity than ever before to innovate. Not just brands, but ingredient suppliers are also leaning in, with new clinical and in vitro data on existing ingredients, while also developing new technologies."
She added that while consumers prefer sticks for underarm application, this format may not be ideal for application to other parts of the body. This has opened up the opportunity for innovation in deodorizing lotions, creams and balms delivered from tubes, jars and sprays.
"Whole body deodorants are best applied to clean, dry skin," she continued. "If water is listed on the ingredients of a product, you can expect that it will be a bit wet feeling on application, so you will need to let it dry well before getting dressed."
On a final note, she emphasized that while whole body deodorants are oftentimes designed for use in intimate areas, they are still designated for external use. For this reason, fragrance-free may be a good choice if "below the belt" is the primary area of usage.
