Jiménez is a pharmacist and master in sustainable development and studies in marketing, cosmetic science and neuromarketing. He has published 30 papers and a book chapter in cosmetic formulation. He also has been awarded the M.G. de Navarre Prize (IFSCC 2004), Henry Maso Award (IFSCC 2016), and Colamiqc 2009, Colamiqc 2013 and Farmacosmética 2014 prizes. Since 2013, he has written the column “Market Trends” in C&T Brazil, the column trends in In-Cosmetics Connect since 2019 and collaborates with the Scientific Advisory Board of C&T. He joined the R&D department at Belcorp in 2005, where he currently is Senior Researcher for skin care and personal care.
This session will explain fundamentals in the physiology and anatomy of the brain and how they are important to cosmetic product experiences. Presented at a "101" level, it will define neurocosmetics; describe the key roles of attention, memory and emotions in the product experience; review the most important evaluation methods, ethics and limits; and highlight some of the most relevant trends and projections in this field, which will guide cosmetics innovation in the years to come.
