Salvatore ("Sal") Barone sadly passed away on Oct. 14, 2023, as reported in a LinkedIn post by the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. He worked for more than two decades at Coty Inc., having most recently served as the director of R&D.
His wife shared the following in his public obituary: "This morning, God and his angel escorted my husband, my best friend, my soulmate, Sal Barone, through the final phase of his earthly journey into heaven. Although I do and will continue to miss him terribly, I know he’s in a better place. I also know that heaven just got better!
"Sal will be greatly missed by so many. He was a great husband to me, kind and generous stepfather to Lauren (Mag) Mallisk, excellent devoted father to two sons, Vincent and Adam, and loving cat dad to Zorro, Sophie and Char.
"Sal was brilliant scientist who contributed greatly to his industry as a generous mentor and teacher and inventor of 63+ patents. He was a great friend to so many. Thank you for the wonderful life that you have given us. Thank you for improving the lives of so many. Your presence made Earth a much better place. Godspeed to you my love!"
