Bio-Botanica's licorice root extract (INCI: Glycyrrhiza Glabra Extract) contains glycyrrhizin, which is known to impart an anti-inflammatory effect, and when used topically, it may help to reduce skin redness or irritation. It is known as an antioxidant and can protect the skin against free radicals. Glabridin may also brighten skin and reduce dark spots by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, which causes pigmentation.
