The platinum rating by EcoVadis was accompanied by a first for the company with Croda achieving the highest carbon management level in Ecovadis’ new carbon scorecard. According to the company, Croda was given the highest Leader rating for its net-zero ambition and approved science-based targets.

Croda was identified by EcoVadis as having advanced CSR practices across the environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Croda's sustainability director, Julia Creasey, said: “We have been assessed by EcoVadis for a decade now, using it as a tool for continuous improvement. We first achieved Gold status in 2012. Since then, we have consistently improved and we are determined to go even further, aiming to be ‘outstanding’ in all Ecovadis’ themes by 2030. This ambition underpins our leadership position and commitment to being the most sustainable supplier of innovative ingredients. In becoming only the third major chemical company in the world to have a 1.5°C science-based target validated, we are already leading our sector. We are now turning that ambition into action with investment-ready decarbonization roadmaps."
