HallStar Acquires Esters From Stepan

The HallStar Company has made a deal with Stepan Company to exchange product lines. Through the deal, Hallstar acquired a personal care ester products line from Stepan. Similarly, Stepan acquired the Hallcomid product line from Hallstar.

"The acquisition and divestiture are strong indicators that a new era for our company is in full progress," said John Paro, HallStar president and CEO in a recent press release.

The esters acquired by Hallstar are used in a range of personal care products, including skin care, color cosmetics, hair care, sun care and toiletries. The acquisition will be added to HallStar's existing specialty ester product lines, which include HallBrite and Spectrasolv sun care technologies.

The Hallcomid product line acquired by Stepan is used in agricultural crop protection formulations, coatings and industrial cleaning products.
