Formulate for the Future at the MWSCC's Fall Technical Symposium

The Midwest chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (MWSCC) is gearing up to again host its biennial Fall Technical Symposium, this year held on Oct. 10, 2013 at the Belvedere Events and Banquets in Elk Grove Village, IL. Personal care formulators and scientists must always be on top of future trends and technology; therefore, the MWSCC has chosen “Formulating for the Future” as this year’s theme, and will feature speakers on topics such as natural surfactuants, ethnic care formulating alphabet creams and more.

The speaker lineup includes: Sonia Dawson from Croda on plant stem cell technologies; Tim Kapsner from Aveda on formulating with natural surfactants; Alban Muller from Alban Muller on natural actives; Ali Syed from Avlon on ethnic hair care formulating; Dawn Thiel Glaser from Beraca on approaching biodiversity in sustainability effors; Larissa Jensen from the NPD Group, Inc. on alphabet creams and David W Koenig from Kimberly-Clark on formulating for mature skin.

The symposium will also feature a student poster session, where students from cosmetic programs nationwide will present their scientific work. The posters will be judged and awards will be given. This is great opportunity for students to present their ideas and findings and meet members of the MWSCC.

Early bird registration before Sept. 15, 2013, will be $105 for SCC members, $120 for non-members and $50 for Emeritus members.
