MAC Taps Skin-friendly Makeup with New Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation

MAC's new Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation features 56 shades of hydrating foundation that is designed to smooth the skin's texture, even tone and blur the look of pores, skin redness, dark spots and dry fine lines. 

The formulation comprises 80% skin care ingredients, according to the brand, including 10% hyaluronic acid solution, as well as vitamin E, jojoba and olive oils, and antioxidants to protect skin from pollution and blue light. 

The foundation also includes the Artist-Curated Radiance Blend, featuring undertone-enhancing silver and gold pearlescent particles. 

The launch is in line with a growing number of skin care-makeup hybrids, including Ayurveda-inspired Mango People, Kulfi's hydrating lipstick and Tula's serum concealer.

Clinical testing on 28 panelists after using the product once revealed a 209% increase in hydration, leading to the appearance of plumper, smoother and more radiant skin, per the brand.

Among a clinical panel of 25 users, 90% said skin felt more hydrated throughout the day, according to the brand, while, among a consumer panel of 167 consumers using the product for one week, 91% said skin looked instantly smoother and noticeably healthier.

The foundation features a recyclable glass bottle and a cap made with 30% PCR.
