Trending for 2025 is a blurred, "soft focus complexion," according to Real Simple and Editor's Beauty. Real Simple reports that blurred makeup is replacing the long-sought-after dewy look. Editor's Beauty explains, "the soft-focus complexion isn’t about chasing perfection — it’s about creating a version of your skin that looks subtly elevated, refined and totally at ease." As InStyle puts it, "It invokes the fuzzy texture and flawless skin of old Marilyn Monroe photographs, and the uncanny sense that a beauty filter is being applied in real life." This week, Makeup Revolution London's IRL ("in real life") Filter 2-in-1 Soft Focus Powder provides a strong example.
Great powder; no color, just imparts a matte finish to skin.
There’s no white cast and it makes makeup look filtered; also no creases
Both powders provide excellent coverage, keep my oily patches at bay, and keep my makeup in place all day.
Super blurring and long lasting!
Feels light on the face and sets my makeup beautifully
Really does the job great for finishing off the makeup or even to just bake some areas of the skin; very pleased with the duo loose and pressed powder.

The dual chamber product features a pressed powder for touch-ups on the go and a finely milled loose powder, "perfect for dusting over the skin or baking for a more intensely brightened under eye and contoured appearance," per the company.
The powder is said to help reduce oil build-up and shine without causing under-eye creasing. The translucent shade reportedly will suit any skin tone and can be used over natural or more colorful, creative makeup looks.
Users first apply their makeup, then lightly buff the powder over skin using a powder brush or a makeup sponge, then set it in place with a fixing spray. The product is both vegan and cruelty-free.
