Inversely, this has pushed innovation to new depths, beyond the fiber surfaceas well as the capabilities of traditional shampoos and conditioners.

This presentation will explore how chemistries can engage with the biology of hair to offer targeted, effective solutions that improve its overall health and condition.

Cavaco-Paulo has a BSc Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Minho where he is a professor. He has published more than 400 peer review publications, supervised more than 50 Ph.D. students and holds more than 20 active patents across the biotechnology, fiber technology, hair, skin and pharma areas.

He invented peptide technologies behind the K18 products. He is currently the CSO of K18 and major shareholder of Solfarcos, which commercializes cosmetic and pharma ingredients.
