Active Concepts has created Mycofuse Protect (INCI: Water (Aqua) (and) Lentinus Edodes Mycelium Extract (and) Lactobacillus Ferment) using mycelium to shield hair from the damaging effects of heat and chemical processes.

Supported by tensile strength data and microscopy imaging, the ingredient is a sustainably derived active from cultured shiitake mycelium that offers optimal hair care protection against environmental and daily stressors.
According to the company, mycelium has adhesive capabilities, which enables Mycofuse Protect to attach or fuse to each hair strand and help seal each hair cuticle.
The active is China IECIC 2015 Compliant, COSMOS-approved and is vegan.
