A new study from the University of São Paulo, Chanel Research and Technology Center in France, and EVIC of Bordeaux, France, shows that French women's skill is better hydrated, exhibits less trans-epidermal water loss and shows distinct elasticity on the forearms and face, in comparison with the skin of Brazilian women.

According to the article abstract, the study was conducted with 41 French and 41 Brazilian female subjects. It aimed to assess the structural and biophysical differences of the Brazilian and French participants who were exposed to different environmental factors. The full paper is pending publication in the British Journal of Dermatology.
