Althought I've been around cosmetics R&D for some time, I still find it interesting how a change in hair care brand can really make my hair feel and behave differently. For instance, I recently bought a different shampoo and conditioner to use during my trip to the IFSCC Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After my return, I went back to the old brand to finish it off—and what a difference.

The typical overall summer experience for me—i.e., a little sunburn; lots of dry, damaged hair; and maybe a slushy—strongly coincides with this edition of Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine in that product developers have devised means of damage control for consumers like me.

Kiehls has created a line of hair care products that smooth frizzy hair without weighing it down. Superbly Smoothing, which offers a shampoo, a conditioner and a hair mask, is said to moisturize hair and impart shine.
