Lipofuscin that accumulates in cells with age reduces skin transparency by blocking light transmission, causing skin dullness. We focused on proteasome and autophagy, the intracellular purification systems, and developed JuniperBright (INCI: Butylene Glycol (and) Water (Aqua) (and) Juniperus Communis Fruit Extract) to increase these activities and suppress the accumulation of lipofuscin in human epidermal keratinocytes.
