The present study evaluated the efficacy of polysaccharides as prebiotics for the skin microbiome. Hyaluronic acids, carboxymethyl beta-glucan, glucomannan and schizophyllan were tested and changes in Staphylococcus epidermidis and Cutibacterium acnes were measured in vitro and in vivo.
