Title: Clear Packaging for Cosmetics
  • Article

Eastman Chemical Company, known globally to supply PET resins for packaging, introduces Vitiva PET for clear packaging of cosmetic and personal care products. The clear packaging is said by the company to protect the product from degradation of dyes and aroma compounds due to exposure to UV light.

"Vivita PET ensures that products'signature colors and ingredients stay as bright and effective as the day they were manufacured," said Lavonna Buehrig, North American market manager of Eastman's Voridian Division in a company press release. According to the company, it has bound the UV absorber directly to the polymer in Vitiva PET to deliver consistent, quality packaging. Manufacturers also reportedly do not have to worry about leaching. The company maintains that products packaged in Vitiva PET will have an extended shelf-life.
