Seppic Launches Anti-aging Active Ingredient

Seppic launched Ceramosides HP at last month’s in-cosmetics trade show in Barcelona, Spain. It features a complex of plant-based ceramides combined with digalactosyl diglycerides—amphiphilic molecules with two omega fatty acids and two sugars that occur naturally in wheat seeds; which have emulsifying properties that increase solubility and effectiveness—and contains high concentrations of omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids. The 100% natural active benefits the skin's pores and, in low doses, visibly improves skin texture. Also offering potent moisturizers, the ingredient promotes the synthesis of TIMP1, an enzyme that contributes to the deterioration of the extracellular matrix, which inhibits the collagenase that decreases firmness associated with aging. It is designed to protect the skin's elasticity and protect against oxidative stress.
