The disclosed patent describes cosmetic formulations containing a UV absorbent in addition to a primary light-protecting material and a secondary light-protecting material that are capable of prohibiting the photochemical chain reaction induced when UV rays penetrate skin or hair. Cosmetic compositions containing the UV absorbent may include skin washing and cleansing preparations in tablet or liquid soap form, synthetic detergents and pastes for cleaning as well as bathing preparations in the form of liquids (i.e., foam baths, milks, etc.) or solids such as bath cubes and bath salts, among others.
