However, the FDA currently is evaluating highly effective, broad spectrum and photostable sunscreen actives for possible approval. The industry also anticipates the FDA soon will provide the necessary guidance for the assessment of UVA protection and the efficacy criteria for broad spectrum sunscreen products, which will ultimately benefit the consumer.
