INEOS Silicas Sells North American Business

INEOS Silicas has announced the sale of its North American Sodium Metasilicate business to PQ Corporation. The Production line at INEOS' site in Joliet, Ill., USA, will close as a result of sale, which was completed on June 23, 2006. Metasilicates, also known as waterglass or liquid glass, have applications in both detergents and cleaning products.
