Substantive, Low Tack Polyhydric Alcohol Ester

The Lubrizol Corp.’s Noveon Consumer Specialties has created a polyhydric alcohol ester said to offer the comfort and targeted delivery of a heavy ester as well as the high slip and low tack of a light ester. Schercemol CATC Ester (INCI: Cocoyl Adipic Acid/Trimethylolpropane Copolymer) is recommended to provide substantivity, targeted delivery and water/sweat resistance to skin care, sun care and color cosmetics. According to the company, the ester is durable and substantive without a heavy, tacky feel. In addition, it is reportedly non-irritating to the eyes and skin. The ester is supplied as a clear liquid with a relatively low viscosity.
