Dragon's Blood Antioxidant for Skin Protection

Naturex has used sap from the Croton Lechleri tree to create Dragon’s Blood, an antioxidant- and proanthocyanidin-rich active that promotes and protects skin health and regenerate tissues, for use in skin care applications.

According to the company, the ingredient contains taspine, which stimulates the early phase of wound healing by stimulating fibroblasts to quickly regenerate a well-stratified epidermis. In addition, it is said to improve the chemical and biological interaction between cells and their environment due to the synthesis of adhesion molecules and fibers and repair the dermis by creating collagen fillers. It can also be used to rejuvenate the skin, prevent or treat the signs of aging, protect skin against environmental aggressors, and normalize stretch marks

The extract is available in powder form (INCI: Croton Lechleri Resin Extract (and) Maltodextrin), glycerol form (INCI: Glycerin (and) Croton Lechleri Resin Extract) and propylene glycol form (INCI: Propylene glycol (and) Croton Lechleri Resin Extract). It is Ecocert validated in the powder and glycerol forms and is recommended at 2-4% in glycerol and propylene glycol form and 0.5% in powder form. The product is water-soluble in all forms and soluble in ethanol in glycerol form.
