Shiseido Tags Cosmetics to Track Use

Shiseido has tagged 49 different product samples in the Tokyo and Fujitsu Mitsukoshi department stores to enable quick access of product information for consumers. The tag uses radio frequency identification technology (RFID) on tester samples to pull up customer-authored product reviews on that item for the buyer.

The Tokyo department store also uses the device to track how frequently and what kind of Shiseido products are being removed and sampled.
