Bioingenium is expanding its capacity to develop bioprocesses and manufacture biological products and active ingredients for the biotechnology, cosmetics and food industries with a new production plant in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona, Spain). 

Representing an investment of €1.5m (~US $15.9m), the facility is set to be fully operational by mid-2024 and will have a surface area of ​​1,200 meters.

In the past year, the company has extended its team by 40% and has experienced an annual growth of 30% over the last three year due to its strategy of diversifying production into new sectors such as cosmetics, technological innovation and research and development.

David Resina, director of the company, commented: "The opening of this pilot plant will allow us to expand our production capacity and prepare for the next phase of the company's expansion in the cosmetics and food tech markets, as well as in other emerging and sustainable sectors. The demand for biotechnology services is constantly increasing, and we believe that this new plant will give us a significant competitive advantage in these markets, in addition to facilitating a gradual increase in our production capacity to meet the current and future needs of the global market."
