Ganesha Personal Care Appoints Vinay Singh VP of R&D

Vinay Kumar Singh has joined Ganesha Personal Care Products as vice president of research and development. In his new role, he will oversee product development for all categories; i.e., skin, hair and body care; color cosmetics; men's grooming; and traditional Indian cosmetics. In addition, he will lead efforts to optimize current formulas, innovate novel product concepts, and transfer and scale-up lab batches to commercial manufacturing; all with an eye toward cost reduction and process improvement.

Singh is post-graduate in chemical technology from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, and has additional diplomas in Medical Laboratory Technology and Management Studies. He most recently served as chief research officer at Kumar Organics Products Ltd., Amkette Analytics, The Vanity Case Group of Companies, Mikasa Cosmetics Limited, Ahmedabad and Paramount Cosmetics India Limited, Bangalore. Prior to this, he was head of the technical division for 14 years at Shingar Ltd./Paramount Cosmetics (Topiwala Group). 

Singh has more than 30 years of experience in the field of cosmetics. He has been teaching cosmetics technology at VJTI since 1994; ICT (Formerly UDCT) and Kelkar College since 2012; Nirma University since 2014; and he also has been associated with Nagpur University since 1994 as an external examiner and paper setter for the cosmetics technology course.

He joined the board of studies of Nagpur University and Sandip University, Nashik, for cosmetics technology courses and in 2004-05, was selected as Golden Jubilee Fellow by UICT of Mumbai University. Singh is a Life Member of the Cosmetology Society of India and Indian Society of Cosmetics Chemists; was the Principal Nominee of Shingar Limited in the Cosmetics sectional committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for 14 years; and was the Principal Nominee of Mikasa Cosmetics at the BIS for 4 years.

Lastly, he has presented at various seminars and conferences, and is a regular contributor to Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine.
