Lubrizol Promotes Three in Personal Care and Home Care

The Lubrizol Corp. has promoted three long-time employees in the home care and personal care divisions.

Dorina Ghirardi has been promoted to global R&D director of personal and home care. In this role, she will work with an emphasis on providing technologies that deliver valued solutions for customer needs. She will be responsible for the group's alignment and for directing the R&D function for the business in the areas of synthesis, applications, new product development and technical service.

Ghirardi joined Lubrizol in 1998 as the technical service manager for Europe, Middle East, Africa and South Asia. She has more than 25 years of technical experience in the personal care industry. She holds a master's degree in pharmaceuticals from the University of Leuven and also obtained two additional master's degrees in pharmaceutical engineering and cosmetic sciences, both from the University of Brussels.

Sanjay Kalhan, PhD, has been promoted to the newly created position of global business director for home care. He will drive the global home care business. More specifically, Kalhan will develop and implement market growth strategies and align and prioritize business development initiatives, as well as develop the business' organizational capacity.

Kalhan joined Lubrizol in 1995 as a research chemist, and thereafter worked in a number of commercial and technical positions. He earned both his master's degree in polymer science and doctorate in chemical engineering from Wayne State University. In addition, Kalhan holds an MBA from the University of South Carolina.

Arul Mathew is promoted to the position of business director of personal and home care for the Asia-Pacific region. In his role, Mathew will direct all commercial and technical activities for the region. Key aspects of his role include: regional business, technical and market focus; development and implementation of growth strategies; organizational development and alignment; and providing value solutions to our customers in the region.

Since joining Lubrizol in 2004, Mathew has held a number of key roles in product management, supply chain, strategic pricing, sales & operations planning, marketing and commercial strategy. Mathew has a master's degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the Ohio State University. "
