Noveon's R&D Chemist Named Young Scientist

Bryan Moran, an R&D chemist for Noveon Consumer Specialties group of Lubrizol Advanced Materials Inc. (Wickliffe, Ohio, USA) was awarded the Young Scientist Award from the Society of Cosmetic Chemists’ Lake Erie Chapter.

The SCC Young Scientist Award recognizes the achievements of younger scientists working in the cosmetic industry. The recipient must be a member or national affiliate in good standing of the SCC and be employed in the cosmetics industry for no more than 10 years.

Moran joined the Noveon Consumer Specialties group of Lubrizol Advanced Materials Inc. in 1998. In his current role as R&D chemist, Moran provides application and new product development support to the skin care product team.

2024 Officers, Directors Named for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists

The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) named its 2024 board of directors, who will be sworn in at the Annual Meeting, to be held Dec. 11-13, 2023, in New York City.

Established in 2021, the scholarship awards $5,000 to two students of a specific under-represented minority of any gender identity pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a science related field with an interest in pursuing cosmetics.
