Coty Developing Presence in Japan

Coty Inc. is strengthening its presence in Japan. The company has announced a joint venture agreement with Bluebell Beaute. Coty Prestige Japan K.K.  reportedly will combine the power of the Coty Prestige brands with Bluebell Beaute’s commercial expertise in Japan to further develop the success of the Coty Prestige brands in that market.

“This strategic partnership will utilize local knowledge and increase our capacity to market our products,” said Bernd Beetz, CEO, Coty Inc. “This business decision reflects the importance of Japan’s fragrance market and the global growth of the Coty Prestige portfolio.”

Coty Prestige Japan K.K. will operate under the general management of Francois Saurel, who previously worked at the Coty Prestige headquarters in Paris. Coty Prestige Japan K.K. will manage the marketing and commercial decisions for the Coty Prestige fragrances portfolio in Japan, while Bluebell Beaute will execute the commercial policy defined for the Coty Prestige brands and will serve as the regular contact point for retailers.

The joint venture will allow Coty Prestige Japan K.K. to manage the entire Coty Prestige fragrance portfolio in Japan, which includes the brands Calvin Klein, Chopard, Davidoff, Jennifer Lopez, Jil Sander, Kenneth Cole, Marc Jacobs, Nikos, Vera Wang and Vivienne Westwood.
