Sabinsa Corp. was honored for its sustainable manufacturing and "green" product offering. The company received the 2008 North American Personal Care Ingredient Green Excellence of the Year Award from Frost & Sullivan. The company's 25 natural personal care ingredients were reviewed for the award in addition to its sustainable chemistry practices.
Sabinsa has 40,000 acres of land devoted to supplying numerous herbs to the company’s production. In addition, the company employs sustainable agricultural practices such as recycling of herbal waste, development of proprietary, natural preservatives that replace synthetic parabens, employment of supercritical extraction that avoids the use of petroleum-based solvents, use of water consumption technologies and adoption of waste reduction programs.
