Boots Holds Innovation Meeting for Entrepreneurs

Boots is seeking innovation ideas and technologies for its European retail network comprising 3,200 health and beauty stores and access to over 135,000 pharmacies. On Dec. 10-11, Boots Centre for Innovation, a division of Alliance Boots, will hold an innovation brainstorm meeting, The New Product Search and Innovation Seminar, through which it is seeking technologies and products that can be developed into pioneering new healthcare products for distribution via Boots Retail Stores.

The event will be hosted in Cambridge, Mass. at the British Consulate General and is free to American entrepreneurs and innovators. The two-day event provides a forum for local and regional companies to pitch ideas to Boots senior executives. The event agenda begins with a half day conference discussing health and beauty trends presented by Boots experts. Following the conference presentations, pre-selected local and regional entrepreneurs have the opportunity to participate in a series of private one-to-one sessions to pitch their product concepts.

The company is already working with a number of US companies, and its management team believes that the country’s large, sophisticated life science market will be the source of exciting new products and technologies. A wide array of participants, ranging from university specialists to small companies with ground-breaking ideas, are expected to be involved.

The company is offering entrepreneurs a unique combination of advice, funding and a route to market for their inventions. The company has identified ten key consumer areas of interest, including: discovering improved ways to diagnose, treat and monitor key aspects of health, beauty and well-being; supporting positive aging through products and devices for mind and body; and minimizing the complications of living with chronic conditions.
