IMCD Opens Singapore Office and Appoints VP of Asia

IMCD Group has opened its regional headquarters in Singapore and appointed Albert Stevens as vice president Asia. The regional office in Singapore will oversee the corporate and business strategies in this region, where IMCD is already active in five countries, generating an annual turnover of € 150 million.

According to the company, it has grown five-fold in the past 15 years. The opening of the regional office in Singapore is the latest in recent steps that IMCD Group has taken to build a stronghold in Asia. Earlier this year, as a part of expansion plans, IMCD opened two laboratories in Asia: a coatings lab in Mumbai, India and a personal care lab in Glenmarie Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.

Stevens has 15 years of experience in the chemical distribution and life sciences. He has held senior marketing  and sales positions for a number of Dutch companies with international reach. Prior to the latest appointment, he served as general manager  of pharmaceuticals and personal care for IMCD Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg) B.V. He also contributed to the expansion into the pharmaceutical market in China.
