BASF has introduced an inorganic, broad-spectrum UV filter based on zinc oxide. Z-Cote LSA (INCI: Zinc Oxide (and) Triethoxycaprylylsilane) provides broad-spectrum protection from long wave UVA rays and medium wave UVB rays by physically scattering, reflecting and absorbing solar radiation.
The filter has an increased particle size and offers transparency and dispersing properties to address previously unmet market needs. The filter is hypoallergenic, allowing it to benefit daily skin moisturizers and beach wear products formulated for sensitive skin.
