Laboratoires Sérobiologiques, a division of Cognis France, has introduced an antiaging active ingredient. Dermican (INCI: Water (aqua) (and) glycerin (and) acetyl tetrapeptide-9) has been created to specifically target the tracer of extra-cellular matrix functionality.

The ingredient is a synthetic tetrapeptide that reportedly has been singled out for its antiage biological action particularly via lumican metabolism. According to the company, the peptide promotes restructuring of the dermis in a complete way, by acting both on its components (collagen I, small proteoglycan: lumican) and on their intrinsic organization. The company recommends the product for formulation into antiaging facial care, firming body care and anti-stretchmark care. For more information, visit the LS’s website.
